Girls' Brigade is part of an international Christian youth organisation which supports the family, serves in the community and meets the needs of girls today operating through local churches.

 

Throughout Queensland there are 46 companies and around 1700 members.

 

The well planned program covers a wide range of activities which help the physical, mental and spiritual growth of the girls.

 

Starting with a simple scheme, the program develops into a wider sphere of work, leading onto the full range of subjects and projects including the Duke of Edinburgh and Queens Award (the highest award in Girls' Brigade).

 

Girls' Brigade caters for Girls from Prep to the age of 21 years working in four units related to school grade.

Cadets (Prep to 2)
Juniors (Gr. 3 to 6)
Seniors (Gr. 7 & 8)
Pioneers (Gr. 9 to 21 yrs)

To help girls to become followers of the Lord Jesus Christ and through self-control, reverence and a sense of responsibility to find true enrichment of life.

Principles

The Brigade acknowledges Jesus Christ as Saviour and Lord according to the Scriptures and seeks to fulfil its aim to the glory of God - Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

The Brigade witnesses to the standard set by Jesus Christ and gives positive teaching on the Christian attitude to life.

The Brigade promotes a just society where all people are equally valued.

 

Statement of Belief

The Holy Scriptures, being the Word of god, contain all things necessary to salvation and are accepted as the final authority.

The Trinity - the unity and co-equality of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

We believe in God the Father, Creator of Heaven and Earth

We believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary.

We believe in Jesus crucified, dead, buried, risen and ascended, who shall come to judge the living and the dead.
